Get ready, West Elgin, for the 170th Rodney Fair, happening September 13-15th! This year’s theme is “Wild Wild West Elgin,” and we’re excited to entertain you. So, buckle up for the ride!
I’m delighted to announce that this year’s Fair will kick off with a bang on Friday night. The Town Crier will introduce our esteemed local dignitaries, followed by some live music and our annual Ambassador’s Program. The excitement continues with the Demolition Derby, where drivers will turn chaos into art, crafting metal masterpieces from old vehicles. Cheer for your favourites – let’s make some noise! What a start to the Fair!
On Saturday morning, don’t miss the parade downtown. After a day filled with adventure, the Truck and Tractor Pull on Saturday night is a must-see. Feel the thrill as engines roar and tires claw at the ground, aiming for the elusive full pull. Witness the power and prowess of our competitors. Enjoy the beer tent, delicious food, and endless fun, including a Mechanical Bull and a giant inflatable midway, plus carnival games spread across the Fairgrounds all weekend.
Then, on Sunday, hold tight for a first at the Rodney Fair – the mini-Chuckwagons will take centre stage!
I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all our sponsors this year. Your generosity is the backbone of our Fair. Special thanks go to the Municipality of West Elgin, The County of Elgin, and the Province of Ontario for their financial support.
Finally, I extend my deepest gratitude to our Board Members, Associate Directors, and Volunteers. Your tireless devotion and hard work have made this weekend of entertainment possible. As the President of the Rodney Fair for 2024, and a lifelong resident of Rodney, I am honoured to represent our beautiful, friendly, and growing community.
We’re looking forward to a Rootin’ Tootin’ good time. See you at the Fair!
Yee Haw!
– Sandra Van Breda, 2024 President
